Ahead of Trump's speech, Clinton ad hits him on foreign policy
Just hours before Donald Trump will present his plan on foreign policy and how to deal with the Islamic State, the Clinton campaign is out with an ad knocking him on those topics. A web ad released Monday attempts to use his past comments and those of members of his own party against him.
“Trump says, ‘I know more about ISIS than the generals do, believe me,” Clinton tweeted Monday. “You know what? We don't.”
“Wondering why?” the text on the screen asks. The ad then launches into a series of clips of Trump’s statements on dealing with terrorists, barring Muslims from entering the United States, the alliance with NATO, the U.S. relationship with Russia and use of nuclear weapons.
Intermingled with the clips of Trump are TV interviews with Republican national security officials who have come out against him.
The ad ends with Clinton speaking during the Democratic National Convention in July: “A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons."
